Advisers
Our advisers are suitably qualified people from diverse backgrounds who work with young people and adults, delivering information, advice, guidance and practical support on a range of issues.
Personal Advisers are professionals who work with young people, providing guidance on careers and advising on issues such as accessing personal development opportunities, dealing with family or relationship problems or anything else that may be preventing them from reaching their goals.
Adult advisers help people to become work ready and to seek sustained employment. They provide information and advice on accessing learning opportunities, developing basic skills and other skills as well as helping with job search skills, CV writing, interview techniques and addressing any barriers to progress that a person
Advisers can be found in all mainstream and special secondary schools, colleges, work based learning providers’ and other learning provision throughout the county. They also work from Connexions Centres, Job Centres, community venues, other outreach locations and in young offenders secure establishments. Some advisers work with other specialist agencies to deliver an integrated approach to issues such as teenage pregnancy, substance misuse or antisocial behaviour.
Operational Support Staff
Operational support functions are based at our Head Office in Stafford. Amongst other activities, Head Office teams ensure that our service delivery is underpinned by effective staff training and development, with appropriate policies and procedures to provide direction. Our Contracts team ensures compliance on all of the contracts that we manage or support and our Business Intelligence team provides information to support decision-making and planning for both Connexions and our partners.
