NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) are based around learning practical skills in the workplace. They are mainly taken by people who are at work and who study on a part-time basis – for example, as part of an Apprenticeship.
Assessment is on the job, at school or college, or with a work-based learning provider. There are over 1300 different NVQs to choose from. They are available in the vast majority of business sectors. For more information about NVQs you can visit the Direct Gov website.
