In Years 10 & 11

By Year 10/11 your son or daughter should be thinking seriously about what they want from life and a career – and how they are going to get there.

Jobs which don’t require qualifications and training are becoming few and far between. Employers are now looking for workers who are skilled, trained and qualified to become a success in the workplace.
It’s important to remember that when your son or daughter reaches school leaving age it’s not just about them getting a job - it’s about encouraging them to learn new skills and gain further qualifications to give them a sound basis for the future.

During Year 10 or 11, your son or daughter will have the opportunity to go on a work experience placement. It’s an ideal opportunity for them to test their career ideas and find out what working life in a particular industry or occupation is like.
