As well as working in schools, colleges and with other learning providers, our Personal Advisers (PAs) are available to talk to you and your son or daughter in your local Connexions Centre.
Once your son or daughter has left school or college they can continue to make appointments to see a PA at a Connexions Centre until they are 19 years old (25 if they have learning difficulties and/or disabilities). If you feel that your son or daughter would benefit from speaking to a Connexions PA then please encourage them to visit their local Centre – we will be happy to see them. Personal Advisers can also put your son or daughter in touch with other organisations if they need any specific help and they can speak up on your son or daughter’s behalf if required.
Connexions Centres all have private areas available so that your son or daughter can speak to us in confidence if they want to.
Information in Connexions Centres
Connexions Centres hold up-to-date information about a wide range of subjects such as education, health, housing, your rights and citizenship, money, relationships, travel and transport, work and training.
Information is available in various of formats, including books, magazines, and on computers which have free internet access. We also have a range of leaflets that can be taken away and read at your son or daughter’s leisure.
Resources are organised into easy to use, colour coded sections using the Connexions Resource Centre Index. All our Centres have posters and other guides showing how to find information and Advisers will always be on hand to help with looking for anything in particular.
If your son or daughter needs any material in another language, in large print or on tape, we can usually arrange it for them. All our offices have magnifying sheets for use with our printed resources if needed.
We do everything we can to make sure that our information does not discriminate unfairly against anyone and that everyone can access our resources.
