Flexible working
Most employers now recognise that it makes good business sense to provide flexible working opportunities for their staff. This makes it easier for parents to find a working pattern that fits in with their childcare.
Some examples of flexible working are:
- Part time working – where you do fewer hours a day, or fewer days a week
- Flexi time – where you can choose what time you start and finish work (there's usually a core period during which you have to work)
- Job sharing – where two people share a job designed for one person
- Homeworking – where you work from home
