Connexions Staffordshire

Special Educational Needs

Connexions Staffordshire works with young people who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities from the age of 13 until they are 25.

It is essential that young people who have a learning difficulty and/or disability, receive the support and help they need to enable them to progress and achieve their potential. Sadly, statistics show that young people with a Statement of Educational Needs or who are School Action or School Action Plus are less likely to enter education, employment or training when they leave school than their peers.

Connexions Personal Advisers (PAs) work closely with Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) to identify young people in school who are Statemented, School Action, School Action Plus, or who have other learning difficulties or disabilities, to discuss their support needs and provide the support they require.
