    This website has lots of useful information about graduate careers and further study. Go to Jobs & work and then Explore types of jobs to get details of lots of different jobs, industry trends, entry requirements and more. Also check out What jobs would suit me?


Where to find out about employers and graduate vacancies


  • Your university or college will have a careers department. Visit them to gather information about career paths, job vacancies and prospective employers - don’t leave it until your final week!
  •  Look out for graduate jobs fairs at university / college or in the local media.
  • Check out www.prospects.ac.uk to find links to employers with graduate job vacancies. Go to Jobs & work and then Search graduate jobs. You can also register for Job vacancy alerts and receive an email or text as soon as job opportunities matching your interests become available.
  • Read Graduate magazine - available online every fortnight at www.prospects.ac.uk/links/Graduate
  • Buy newspapers or browse them at your local library. Some national newspapers advertise particular specialist job areas on particular days. Other papers, including most local newspapers, advertise all their jobs on one day of the week.
  • Check out specialist journals covering your chosen career.
  • Visit your nearest Jobcentre Plus for advice and help with job hunting, or log on to their job search facility.
