Most Apprentices are employed and get a wage.
The law says that all employed Apprentices must receive a wage of at least £2.50 per hour. (This works out at £95 for a 38 hour week.) Research has found that many employers increase wages as apprentices' skills develop. The national average take home pay for employed Apprentices is around £170 a week.
Depending on the type of Apprenticeship, you may also be able to get funding to help with travel or childcare costs.
